PicToning Laser Facial
PicoToning Facial at Rejuvia
Pigmentation, Tone & Texture — Dallas, TX
The PicoToning facial is one of the most advanced non-ablative resurfacing treatments in modern aesthetic medicine. It uses picosecond laser technology to deliver ultra-short pulses of energy that target pigmentation, even skin tone, refine texture, and stimulate collagen — all without the downtime, redness, or recovery associated with traditional resurfacing lasers.
For clients dealing with stubborn pigmentation, sun damage, melasma, post-inflammatory marks, or skin that's lost its evenness and glow, PicoToning is one of the most effective treatments we offer.
What Picosecond Technology Does
Most laser treatments deliver energy in nanosecond pulses — billionths of a second. Picosecond lasers deliver energy in picoseconds — trillionths of a second. The pulse is so fast that the laser breaks pigment into much smaller particles with significantly less heat transfer to the surrounding skin.
The clinical advantage is significant: picosecond lasers clear pigment more efficiently, with less risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (the rebound darkening that older lasers often caused on melanin-rich skin), and with no downtime. Where older laser systems required visible recovery and carried real pigmentation risk for darker skin tones, picosecond technology is genuinely safe and effective across the full range of Fitzpatrick types.
This is the same technology used in advanced tattoo removal, and the precision that makes it safe for clearing ink under the skin is what makes it remarkably effective at clearing unwanted pigmentation in skin.
What the PicoToning Facial Treats
- Sun damage and age spots
- Melasma
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (the dark marks left after acne or irritation)
- Uneven skin tone and dullness
- Fine lines and early signs of aging
- Enlarged pores and rough texture
- Overall skin quality and radiance.
PicoToning is particularly effective for clients with stubborn pigmentation that hasn't responded to peels, topical brighteners, or other resurfacing treatments. It's also one of the few treatments we can safely offer for melasma on darker skin tones, where most resurfacing modalities are off the table due to pigmentation risk.
What to Expect
A PicoToning facial takes about 30 minutes. Most clients describe the sensation as a light, warm flicking — easily tolerable without numbing.
Immediately after, your skin will look brighter and feel smooth. A mild flush is normal and typically resolves within an hour or two. There is no peeling, no scabbing, and no restriction on normal activities. You can apply makeup the same day if needed.
Over the following one to two weeks, pigmented areas may darken slightly before flaking off — this is the pigment being cleared by your body, and it's exactly what we want to see. Skin texture, tone, and overall quality continue improving for four to six weeks as collagen remodels.
Treatment Series
PicoToning delivers visible results from a single session, but it works best as a series. For pigmentation, melasma, and overall skin clarity, we typically recommend a series of three sessions spaced =four weeks apart. Maintenance sessions every two to three months keep skin clear, even, and bright.
Who's a Candidate
The PicoToning facial is safe and effective across all skin tones, including melanin-rich skin that traditional resurfacing lasers couldn't safely treat. It is not appropriate for clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have active skin infections or open lesions in the treatment area, who have used isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past six months, who have a recent sun tan or self-tanner application, or who have certain photosensitizing medical conditions we'll screen for at your consultation.
We'll always confirm candidacy at your visit, including reviewing your skin history, any prior laser treatments, and your current skincare routine.
Pre & Post-Treatment Care
Avoid direct sun exposure and self-tanner for two weeks before your treatment. Avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids for three to five days before treatment. After treatment, use SPF every day (this is essential — laser-treated skin is temporarily more photosensitive). Resume your normal skincare 24 to 48 hours after treatment, avoiding active ingredients until your skin feels completely normal. Do not pick at pigment as it flakes — let it shed naturally.
Investment
Single PicoToning facial: $275
