What It Is

The VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel developed specifically to deliver visible, transformative results without the harshness or extended downtime of traditional deep peels. It combines a synergistic blend of acids and active ingredients — trichloroacetic acid (TCA), salicylic acid, phenol, vitamin C, and retinoic acid — in a single application that works on multiple layers of the skin at once.

What to Expect

The peel itself takes about 30 minutes. We cleanse your skin, apply the peel solution in layers, and send you home with a take-home kit containing everything you'll need for the next several days. There is no neutralizing step — the peel continues working on your skin for several hours after you leave.

You may feel a mild tingling or warmth during application. Most clients describe it as completely tolerable, and no numbing is required.

For the first few hours after application, your skin will feel tight and look slightly flushed or bronzed. The real action begins on day two or three, when light peeling starts. Peeling typically continues for three to five days and ranges from barely visible flaking to more noticeable shedding, depending on the formulation and your skin.

By day seven, the peeling is complete, and you'll see fresh, brighter, smoother skin underneath. Improvement in tone and pigmentation continues for several weeks as the deeper layers of your skin remodel.

Downtime

Plan for three to five days of social downtime if you want to peel privately. Many clients schedule their peel on a Thursday and are camera-ready by Monday or Tuesday. The peeling itself is manageable — light flaking around the mouth and nose first, then more diffuse peeling across the cheeks and forehead. Do not pick. Do not pull. Let the skin shed on its own timeline. Picking is the single most common cause of post-peel hyperpigmentation and scarring.

The Take-Home Kit

Every VI Peel includes a take-home kit you'll use for the four days following treatment. The kit contains a post-peel cleanser, a moisturizer, and post-peel towelettes that are essential for getting the result the peel is designed to deliver. Following the kit instructions exactly is non-negotiable — the peel and the aftercare are designed to work as one protocol. We'll walk you through the entire post-peel routine before you leave the office, and you'll have direct access to us if any questions come up during your peel week.

Treatment Series

Most clients see meaningful improvement after a single peel. For pigmentation, melasma, acne scarring, and more significant skin concerns, a series of three to four peels spaced four to six weeks apart delivers the most dramatic and durable results. Maintenance peels every three to four months keep your skin clear, bright, and even.
