Some of the most effective treatments in aesthetics are also the most elegant in concept. Microneedling is one of them: a minimally invasive procedure that recruits your body’s own repair response to build healthier skin from within.
What microneedling is.
Microneedling — also known as collagen induction therapy — uses ultra-fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. Those tiny, deliberate micro-injuries activate your natural healing response, triggering fresh collagen and elastin production along with the generation of new, healthy skin cells.
How it works beneath the surface.
The treatment stimulates your skin on several fronts at once:
- Increasing collagen production
- Enhancing elastin formation
- Improving cell turnover
- Boosting blood circulation
- Increasing the absorption of active ingredients applied to the skin
What it can improve.
Because it works on the skin’s underlying architecture rather than a single symptom, microneedling addresses a wide range of concerns:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars and surgical scars
- Hyperpigmentation and sun damage
- Uneven texture and tone
- Enlarged pores
- Stretch marks
- Loss of firmness and elasticity
- Dull, tired-looking skin
Who it suits.
Microneedling is safe and effective for most skin types and tones. It tends to appeal to anyone looking to soften signs of aging, reduce scarring, improve firmness, boost hydration or strengthen the skin barrier — without committing to aggressive resurfacing.
What the appointment looks like.
Plan for 30–60 minutes. We apply numbing cream beforehand, so comfort is managed before the device ever touches your skin. During treatment, the device glides across the skin creating those micro-channels; immediately afterward you’ll look red and flushed, similar to a mild sunburn. That’s the healing response doing exactly what it should.
The recovery timeline.
First 24–48 hours.
Expect redness, warmth and slight swelling. Skin may feel tight or a little sensitive — all normal.
Days 3–5.
Mild flaking as new skin emerges, followed by visibly improved texture and glow.
Aftercare, kept simple.
- Skip makeup for 24 hours
- Avoid heat, sweating and workouts for 48 hours
- Use gentle skincare only while skin recovers
- Apply SPF daily — no exceptions
One session or a series?
You’ll see improvement after a single session, but a series of 3–6 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart delivers the best long-term results. Collagen builds cumulatively — each session compounds the last. The four-week spacing isn’t arbitrary: it gives your skin a full remodeling cycle between visits, so each treatment lands on skin that has finished the work the previous one started.
Why professional treatment matters.
At-home rollers borrow the vocabulary of microneedling without the mechanism. Professional treatment uses sterile, single-use needle cartridges at medically appropriate depths — deep enough to trigger genuine collagen induction, controlled enough to keep the treatment safe and precise. Depth is adjusted zone by zone: what suits your cheeks isn’t what suits the thinner skin around your eyes or the tougher texture of a scar. That precision, plus proper numbing and clinical hygiene, is the difference between stimulation and irritation.
Making a good thing better.
Because the micro-channels temporarily increase absorption, the serums applied during and immediately after your session do more than they would on intact skin. Microneedling also pairs well across our menu — many clients alternate it with facials or chemical peels through the year, and post-treatment support like gentle, barrier-focused skincare helps the results settle in beautifully. Your provider will map the sequence so nothing competes. If you’re working toward an event, count backward: your final session should sit at least a few weeks out, so your glow arrives with the collagen — not the flush.
