Chemical peels remain one of the most effective ways to achieve smooth, radiant, youthful skin. At Rejuvia we use PCA Skin — a physician-developed, professional-grade line trusted for consistent results across all skin types. And with less sun on the calendar, fall and winter are the ideal seasons for skin renewal.
How PCA peels work.
As skin ages, cellular renewal slows — the visible result is dullness and uneven texture. PCA formulations counter this in three stages:
- Exfoliation — removing damaged surface cells
- Stimulation — boosting cellular turnover and collagen synthesis
- Regeneration — revealing fresh, smooth, radiant skin
The peels combine lactic acid, salicylic acid and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) — powerful yet balanced exfoliants — with brightening and hydrating support ingredients.
What’s in the bottle.
| Ingredient | What it does |
|---|---|
| Lactic acid | Gentle exfoliation, hydration and brightening |
| Salicylic acid | Penetrates pores; reduces acne and congestion |
| TCA | Improves texture, tightens, minimizes wrinkles |
| Kojic acid | Lightens pigmentation; inhibits melanin |
| Citric acid | Antioxidant protection and glow |
| Azelaic acid | Calms redness; reduces blemishes |
| Arbutin | Natural brightening and tone evening |

The treatment itself.
Your skin is cleansed, then layered with specialized exfoliating and brightening formulas. Mild warmth or tingling during activation is normal. Afterward, expect mild flushing, tightness and light flaking over several days as fresh skin emerges. To prepare: pause exfoliants, retinoids and strong actives in the days prior, skip waxing or resurfacing treatments for 24 hours beforehand, arrive with clean, product-free skin, and stay hydrated.
Caring for a fresh peel.
- Gentle cleanser, hydrating moisturizer and SPF 30+ daily
- No exfoliants, retinoids or direct heat for one week
- Let skin shed naturally — no picking
- The PCA Post-Procedure Solution Kit is our recommended companion for barrier repair
Results, and how many peels it takes.
Most clients notice smoother, brighter skin within the first week, with continued improvement over 7–10 days. For optimal results, plan a series of 3–6 PCA peels spaced about four weeks apart, then maintenance every few months. One myth worth retiring: your skin doesn’t have to visibly peel for the treatment to work — much of the change happens beneath the surface. Makeup can resume after at least 24 hours, once tightness subsides.
Safety and timing.
PCA peels are safe for all skin types and tones, including sensitive skin, with formulations designed for every Fitzpatrick type at customized strengths. Postpone treatment if you’re pregnant or nursing, have active cold sores or open lesions, a recent sunburn, or recent strong retinoid use, microneedling, waxing or laser treatments. For an amplified visit, we often pair peels with dermaplaning beforehand, LED light therapy afterward, or alternate them with HydraFacials and microneedling.
A last note on pedigree: PCA Skin was founded in 1990 by an aesthetician and developed with physician expertise, pioneering customizable blended peels built on gentle, progressive treatment rather than the harsh, one-size-fits-all approach.
Every peel here starts with a conversation — your goals, your skin’s history and your calendar all shape which formula we reach for and how strong we mix it. And if you’re planning a series, ask about membership: members save up to 15% on most services.
